Updates that do not depend on the inbox

BeaconBox gives every customer somewhere to read their order updates with certainty, then nudges them by email, SMS or WhatsApp to go and look. The update is delivered before any nudge is sent, which changes what you have to handle when a nudge cannot be.

Your order is on its way

Packed this morning and waiting for collection.

#A-10294Updated

One message, pushed twice. The second push found the same subject and rewrote what the customer is already holding, so nothing new arrived and nobody was interrupted twice.

Two ways in

The guide assumes you run a shop and have a dashboard open. The developer documentation assumes you are wiring BeaconBox into something that already knows when an order ships.

Using BeaconBox

Set up sending, send your first update, and read what happened. No code.

  • Your sending domain and its DNS records
  • Turning SMS and WhatsApp on
  • Credits, the plan and the email allowance
  • Looking up one customer

For developers

Twenty operations, two SDKs, and the three conventions that make them safe.

  • Python and PHP, or plain HTTP
  • Idempotency on every write
  • Reading an outcome instead of a status code
  • Signed webhooks

API reference

Every operation an API key can call, with its parameters and its real responses.

  • Messages, recipients, credits
  • Keys and webhook endpoints
  • Error codes

Three things worth knowing before you read anything else

The message is delivered before the nudge
It is in the customer's inbox the moment your call returns. The email, text or WhatsApp message only shortens the time until somebody looks, so a nudge that cannot be sent is reported as a skip, not raised as a failure.
The nudge never carries the update
It says what happened to which order ("Your order A-10294 from PhonicBloom has shipped"), in our words rather than yours, and links to the inbox. A nudge that reaches the wrong hands discloses almost nothing, and the link signs the customer in with no password and no account to create.
This is for urgent, relevant updates only
No campaigns, no segments, no lists to upload. You can only message somebody who has bought from you, which is the reason they keep paying attention to it.
